5/6 Sculpting Ceramic Watering Urns for your Garden ~ Stella Kemper

Ollas are partially-buried ceramic vases that irrigate your garden in the most sustainable possible fashion—they are fashioned from the Earth itself, deliver water directly to plants' roots with no waste, and last for season after season. They also save considerable time on watering, and help filter and purify water delivered to your plants, making them an excellent option for using recycled greywater. And, last but not least, they create a built-in opportunity to add handcrafted whimsy to your garden, landscape, or urban farm with creative stoppers.

No experience with ceramics or sculpture? No problem! In this workshop, you'll learn how to hand-build an olla and create a sculptural stopper for your vessel. All materials, instructions, and firing included. Finished work may be picked up after 2 weeks from the class at the Spun Clay Studio and Gallery, located at 1307 MLK Jr. Way, Tacoma, WA 98405 (just around the corner from Feast!).
